Extra details
Important - For the continued running of this race we cannot block the lanes or access to any of the farms or the pub. Do not block Mountain Rescue emergency access routes or restrict public or private rights of way. Car parking is in allocated car parks alone and that is a condition of the land use. This has caused issues in the past and will not be tolerated.

Facilities

We are able to use the pub by the good grace of the landlord and landlady. Please thank them and perhaps buy a drink!

Baguettes will be available on the bar for £6 and can also be made to order once those are sold. If you prefer to sit down for a full meal they are also available, but it may be best to book a table ahead.

If you are coming from further afield, the pub does have lodges you can stay in. For more details please see the pub website

Active travel

We encourage you to cycle wherever possible! It is fun and if you are taking part in this race, then you are fit enough to cycle at least part of the journey. You can cycle to and from race HQ, which is on national cycle route 42, very easily. There will be a prize for sustainable travel, so please make yourself known at registration.

Public transport

Abergavenny Train Station has direct trains from Manchester and Cardiff (you can change at Newport for trains from Bristol) and is only 3.5 miles from race HQ, most of which is along national cycle route 42.

Travel by car

If travelling by car, please arrive early, otherwise you may not have time to get to the start and fill-in your mandatory registration form and collect your race number. There is a good, large car park on Deri View (off Llwynu Lane in Abergavenny), opposite Deri View School (now Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni) which is 2.5 km from race HQ (ideal for a warm up run/jog). Grid Ref: SO 302158 What Three Words: ///doors.grips.flamenco See map below for route from Deri View Car Park to Race HQ.

Extremely limited parking available towards the rear of the pub car park (gravel area only). Due to lack of spaces, this will be for cars with 3+ occupants only. Once the allocated area is full, cars will be turned back to Deri View Car Park in Abergavenny.
